About Us: History

Barr, Incorporated is a family owned and operated general contracting firm established in 1984.  Since that time, Barr has completed high-quality construction projects throughout New England.

Lead by second-generation owner John Darigan, the company has strong roots in New England and the local community.  With over 17 years of diverse construction experience, John now serves as Vice President of Construction Operations.  John oversees the overall estimating effort which includes take-offs, pricing and solicitation of qualified subcontractors and continues to be the project manager of a wide variety of projects including Marian Heights Senior Living Community in New Britain, CT, a $14,000,000 project.

John is joined by an experienced team of office personnel, estimators, project managers, job superintendents, carpenters and other construction trades with deep expertise and knowledge.
